Waterfront Communities

Where on the water would you want to be?

Life on the Water

Some people must have access to water. Whether it’s the ocean, a river or an expansive lake, there’s no doubt that water embodies peace, beauty and adventure. There’s an increasing number of communities with water as a central theme. And, more choices means more competitive prices, so be sure to be thorough in your search for the community that’s right for you.

Here are some of the many advantages to living on the water:

· Waterfront homes are excellent investments.
· Residents enjoy an array of wildlife.
· Waterfront communities provide access to water activities for all ages.
· Most waterfront communities are situated next to hundreds of acres of unspoiled nature.
· There’s a strong sense of community and well-being.

Where on the water would you want to be?

Ocean, River, or Lake?

Are you drawn by the ocean, the flow of rivers, the tranquility of lakes? Or, do you hope to be in proximity of all three? All options offer a range of water activities and each style of waterfront living has its unique benefits. Find your ideal, then start thinking where in the country (or world) this would apply, and which locations would suit your needs and desires best.

Where on the water would you want to be?Obviously, proximity to the ocean means living along the coastline. From North Carolina, to Florida, to the Caribbean, there's a long list of saltwater locations to explore. If sailing, surfing, fishing, or morning dips are on your priority list, hone in on the kind of climate that suits you best, then start narrowing in.

Lakes and rivers will likely, but not always, take you inland. Areas in and around the coastal cities of Wilmington, NC, Beaufort, SC and Savannah, GA, for instance, are in proximity to all three bodies of water. But, lake and river purists will likely be inclined to head toward the mountains. The Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and The Blue Ridge Mountains of the Carolinas and Georgia are speckled with tight knit lake and riverfront communities both in the foothills and at higher elevations. Generally waterfront living is indicative of and promotes a healthy, and social lifestyle. So if good health, long life, and a cohesive community matter to you, waterfront is the way to go.
