The Hills are Alive

The mountains are calling and I must go…

Doug Paul and his wife heard them calling and left Iowa to plant their artsy roots in Asheville, NC, a city full of musical talents, mouthwatering menus, and breathtaking views. Asheville is a mountain paradise you’ll fall in love with.

Imagine taking a stroll through the streets of downtown, admiring the eclectic mix of architecture—Neoclassical styles, Art Deco designs, Spanish Renaissance detail—and hearing music notes drifting through the air.

“Excellent musicians find themselves in this city.” Doug says, “Almost any day of the week, you can go out and hear live music.”

The music notes mingle with delicious smells wafting between old brick buildings from the many restaurants around town. That’s one thing this place doesn’t lack is tons of good food, no matter where you are in the city.

And for the craft beer lovers, South Slope is the blossoming home of frosty, brew-filled mugs from eight present and future-planned breweries. Or sip on a pint from noteworthy Wicked Weed. Cheers.

Oh, and the views. From a parking deck to an al fresco dinner at the Grove Park Inn, the picturesque landscape will make everyone a photographer. You’ll hear the mountains calling and you’ll already be there, in the midst of it all.

“Excellent musicians find themselves in the city. Almost any day of the week, you can go out and hear live music.”
