Wycliffe presented a check on behalf of Masters Club Advisors and their continued support in raising money playing Marathon Golf

Back in May of 2015, Wycliffe Golf & Country Club, along with other country clubs in the South Florida area such as: Addison Reserve, Boca West and the Jupiter Country Club, came together for a week of Marathon Golf. If you’re not familiar with what Marathon Golf is, it’s when you play as many holes as possible from sun-up to sun-down. The event was in conjunction with the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) South Florida Chapter and the Master Club Advisors. Overall, it was an incredible week to play golf and raise money for some very noble charities in South Florida. What made this so special for Wycliffe, is that we had the distinct honor to play with Richard Fleming, Director of The Special Olympics of Palm Beach County and Jonathan Doring, Special Olympics Gold Medalist.

On July 8, Gary Collins, Club Partner with Master Club Advisors, hosted the Seminole Region FLCMAA Marathon Golf Celebration Breakfast at the Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. In attendance, was Wycliffe’s own Richard Chase, Food & Beverage Director and Brad Lieberman, Marketing Assistant. Others who were there, included: Richard Fleming and Jonathan Doring from The Special Olympics of Palm Beach County, Members of The Jupiter Country Club, CPA’s, Attorney’s and other not-for-profit’s who contributed to the success of this year’s Marathon Golf.

The morning started out with a beautiful buffet, courtesy of Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club, followed by introductions. It was amazing to see people from various industries, not just hospitality, tell their story of why they got involved in Marathon Golf and by giving back to the community; it made them want to donate even more. When Jonathan Doring and Richard Fleming spoke, they mentioned how Wycliffe’s involvement made a big difference in gaining donations through our social media campaigning. We were so delighted to hear that and proud to make a positive impact.

For 2015, all of the country clubs combined, raised over $154,000. This money will go directly to various Palm Beach Charities, including the Special Olympics and SOS Children’s Villages of Florida.
