USTA Champ Kam Kuchta serves up for victory!
The International Tennis Federation, better known as the ITF, is “serving up” the 2016 Young Seniors 30-45 World Team Championships in Umag, Croatia from April 29 – May 8. Umag, Croatia, host to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and ITF tennis tournaments is known for its rich cultural legacy, breathtaking natural beauty, and great food!
Representing the U.S.A. in the Men’s 45 division, is nine-time USTA National Champion and Director of Tennis at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club, our own, Kam Kuchta, a seasoned competitor who is honored to be included. “After having represented the United States in Turkey in 2015, I feel this year’s team is healthier and ready to take home a win for the U.S.A. It’s also a personal honor for me to participate. Being a native of Poland and growing up in the states since age 10 makes this a very special moment in my professional career” said Kuchta.
Given the prestigious nature of the event, the process for selection to the team is fairly simple. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) chooses the fourth highest ranked players in the U.S.A., per age group, as well as considering the player’s record for the past two years.
This year’s team will consist of four players from across the United States–Texas, Colorado and Florida. Let’s wish Kam Bon Voyage and best of luck as he prepares for the tournament! Congratulations, Kam!
