The Landings Club is delighted to announce that Steven Freund has accepted the position of Club Executive Director beginning May 17, 2010.
Mr. Freund has spent his entire career in hotels, resorts and restaurants starting out in his father’s restaurant in New York. After college, he held food & beverage roles with The Helmsley Palace and Hilton before joining Ritz-Carlton in 1990. In 1995, Steven took on his first general management role at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Tyson’s Corner, VA. Steven then became General Manager of The Ritz Carlton in Dearborn Michigan and later Amelia Island, Florida. In 2001 Steven was tapped to open The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation, GA and has been successfully running the property ever since. While at Amelia Island and Reynolds Plantation, Steven had responsibility for quality, finance, rooms, food & beverage operations, spas, fitness and he worked hand in hand with golf pros and golf course maintenance.
Steven is an avid golfer himself. His personal passion for the sport and close association with golf during his resort experience have provided knowledge of what it takes to provide a great golf experience and a well maintained golf course. Also a tennis player and involved in swim programs through his children, Steven brings an appreciation for the breadth of what The Landings Club has to offer.
In addition to his role as manager of significant hotels and resorts, Steven has a history of successful turnarounds, start ups, implementation of growth strategies and accomplishing stretch goals throughout his career. Additionally, Steven has had experience assessing the unique attributes of the properties he has managed and has implemented operating models that fit the personality of each property.
A strong supporter of quality management principles, Steven was also a certified presenter for The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center where he served other organizations by sharing his passion for the culture, values and success factors of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
