Bluffton, SC – 12.03.09 – A WeldenField Vacation Townhome at Hampton Lake took home three awards at last week’s 10^th Annual LightHouse Awards Ceremony that celebrates the Lowcountry’s most talented builders.

The 2,109 square-foot Vacation Townhome won awards for “Best Overall,” “Best Green Semi-Custom Home” and “Best Exterior.” The three bedroom, three bath model was the only green home award recipient that also received awards in other main categories.

“Building green doesn’t mean that luxury, quality and specialty features have to be sacrificed,” said Gerrit Albert, president of Hampton Lake. “These awards are acknowledgement of our commitment to working with green builders and constructing quality homes throughout our community.”

The LightHouse Awards are presented to members of the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association for the demonstration of quality craftsmanship and design excellence in the construction of homes throughout the Lowcountry.

Nine judges including builders, remodelers, architects and other industry professionals from Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina traveled to the Hilton Head/Bluffton area and spent three days personally inspecting the entries.

A record-breaking 88 entries were submitted by 33 remodelers, custom builders, green builders and semi-custom builders. The builders competed in five award categories of Best Bath, Best Exterior, Best Kitchen, Best Detail Feature and Best Overall Home or Remodel and two newly-added categories of Best Overall Green Home and Best Overall Partial Remodel.
