North Carolina Community Wins “Gold” Award for Green Design

Shallotte, NC – On Friday, May 1st, 2009 The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association announced the winners of the gold, silver and bronze awards for the 23rd annual Parade of Homes. A panel of 20 judges from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia independently judged all aspects of the homes.

Wisteria Place in Shallotte, NC won 1st Place GOLD in the “Green Home” category!

This year was the first year to feature the Coastal GREEN Built awards. Several green homes from New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick Counties, including Wisteria Place were judged on site design, water efficiency, resource efficiency, energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
